Alta E&I has partnered with multiple clients supporting the Hermosa Mine project, located within a historic mining district in the Patagonia Mountains of Southern Arizona. As of 2024, the Hermosa Mine represents the only advanced mine development project in the United States with the potential to produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—both of which are essential to advancing the nation’s clean energy and electrification goals. The project’s mineral resources also include silver and lead, which play key roles in renewable energy technologies and infrastructure.

Alta E&I is providing construction materials testing and inspection services in support of ongoing mine development activities. Project services include testing and inspection related to soils, concrete, and water, ensuring compliance with applicable specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Given the scale and pace of development, Alta E&I’s field personnel are supporting operations on a 24/7/365 basis to meet the demanding schedules and operational needs of multiple clients at the site.
